I’ve got an 011 and it has the smoothest idle you ever heard. Good saws for what they are. Oiler kinda sucks though. Luckily mine still works.

Carl would know I bet.

In my mind, it runs and cuts good? A Stihl?
At least a hundred dollar bill?

$100 to 150 is exactly what its worth. I have an 009 and 2 011AVT's sa well as an 011AV which is the rear handle version. Awesome old saws. There is a guy in Germany that makes oiler parts and carb kits for the Weber carbs. Nice find!

Given the almost new bar/chain, yes.

Working oil pump is the biggest deal on those.

Otherwise save them for parts to fix an 012.

I have a NOS chainbrake for one iffin anybody has a need. [emoji57] White one.

While you knowledgeable gents so are talking about parts. Does Meteor make a replacement p/c for Stihl 290’s ? I have found off brands but no Meteor.

My buddy has one that only has 70psi compression, the guy at the Deere dealer told him $600 to rebuild it. He bought a new one & wants this as a backup saw. The p/c look ok to me but figured if the whole thing has to be dismantled may as swap out the p/c as opposed to just rings.

I had an MS390 I traded for once. Guy said it wouldn't run good at all. Had the clutch side crank seal out of it and scored piston/rings.
Cleaned up the cylinder, new bearings, seals, crankshaft and a Farmertech piston/rings. Opened the muffler way up. It was a really nice saw. Pulled a 24 inch bar with authority. Wound up selling it, it was so good.
After all, that's what one does with Stinks isn't it?
:D

If I recall, I traded him a really nice PM610.

Thanks Carl.

The OEM kit I looked at said it was a 47mm but I saw several various p/c bores.

I was thinking about a 390 top end. These clam shells look like a royal PIA to work on.
My experience with them is that they have to be entirely disassembled, almost to their atoms, in order to get the engine out to work on. With that said they're not that hard. But you'll have a large pile of bolts once it's apart.

Good evening All! been pretty crazy of late, but only 2.33 years to the first retirement, and I'm looking forward to it. I'm getting just old enough to not hold my tongue... Might be picking up a few Stihls off of a buddy, and thinking about sending the 562 down the road towards a 585 or 592... I did manage to burn out a PE T-6 wood stove in 12 years though. Damn metal cracked, and the non-cat secondary baffle starting warping a bit. We'll see what the next stove is. It probably won't be as good as Matt's garage stove.

I’ve got the 572 and it’s been good so far. I still like a 3 series husky the best though.

Well, I walked my boss out to his truck yesterday. He officially retired at 1:45 pm. I told him I was walking him out just to make sure that he left.
But it was more a respect thing. After 18 years working together I owed him that. Today was my Friday but I told him the rest of his days were Saturdays. I wish him all the best the world has to offer.
