Got called into work. Nothing like unplugging ash in an 8” iron pipe 60+ ft in the air in the middle of the night lol. Out of a 21 man mx crew so far I’m the only one coming in. Idk if that’s dedication or stupidity. Pays the bills though.

I guess the answer to your question is all about your point of view & your mind set. The answer maybe both, some days you are a dedicated employee , other days you are asking yourself why am I such a pushover & doing this even if it does pay the bills.

Good morning!
Picked up a few yesterday. Steve is coming for the McCulloch's and the Creamsicle is going away soon before my shop becomes infected. [emoji4]

Thanks Carl.

The OEM kit I looked at said it was a 47mm but I saw several various p/c bores.

I was thinking about a 390 top end. These clam shells look like a royal PIA to work on.
I've found that leaving the clam cover in the body of the saw is a quicker way to fix these things. Getting that bar stud out can lead to all kinds of dismay! Last one I did I cleaned it up real good and changed the whole top to a clone 390. Plug the decomp and advance the timing, plus open up the muffler to where it makes more noise than the intake droning, and you'll have a decent saw.
Timed cuts showed it ran dead even with my 036 Pro. Guy that has it now still is happy with it.

That 046 will fund a bunch of oldie mouldeys in the right hands. [emoji6]

What model is that Partner? They all tend to look identical. R16 looks the same as a P70. Grandma’s funky toaster.

Mostly sunny day in the Midlands, except Chelsea. Chelsea has rain.

I’ve got the 572 and it’s been good so far. I still like a 3 series husky the best though.

I haven’t ran my 2171’s since I got my 572, just got my 592. I don’t see running the 21- - other than maybe at GTG’s. The 592 is a dream to run compared to anything in its class

Idk my 572 is stock and it’s reliable and smooth but ain’t got enough power for me. I really like my awol 2171. It’s my all time favorite saw. Plenty snappy and lots of power. Even with an 8pin. It does like to eat recoil cover though.

A muffler mod and timing advance perk up a 572 quite nicely and a ported one will be on the heels of your 71 but with a Cadillac feel and Volkswagen fuel efficiency

The Partner looks to be an R30 (85cc).

Latest projects seem to be yellow. Found this 1953 IEL HA yesterday. Hope to get it running for IA GTG along with the Partner.

The HA is supposed to be the world's first direct drive saw.
Let me know if you need any info on the HA. Nice looking saw! Most that I've seen were red. May be a late production?
That MD float-type carb is pretty simple. It tunes backwards to most carbs.
I've got an HB, HC, and HM.
