Good morning y'al, Steve included. After last night's post got reminded 2 things; refroze sno top is slicker than snow, and gravity is a law not a suggestion. This is after paper towel peal before wash up. Fore head injuries bleed freely was another reminderView attachment 328757
That looks like hell Tony, I hope you get healed up soon. Hope nothing else is messed up.

Picked up my ole case tonight. Spent about an hour and had her running again. Gonna have to clean the tank. It’s got rust inside. But surprised how well it runs. Best I can still tell it’s all original paint.

A neighbor had a Case L on steel. I got to drive it disking a plowed field. Surprised by how good he ran, it was the only steel wheeled tractor I have driven.

I’m seeing reverse and 3 toward gears. Guy I got it from said it was super low geared.

That was the case answer to the Allis charmers A.

There were a couple of those L’s up in my grandpa’s county that fellas ran the threshing machines and silage cutters with.

I think they had a bit more HP than the common row crop offerings in their day..

What year is it?

I’m told 36. I haven’t ran the serial number yet. Yea tractor data show 40 something hp.

80-87 according to the interweb. I thought it was a late 70’s - early 80’s thing but didn’t look it up because I got distracted.

Today we don’t think much of 45hp, but back then, that was a real hoss.
Probably weighs close to 8000#’s without fluid.

And would pull 12’-16’ disc “slowly”, but all day and night if necessary...

Look under the front axle and see if it’s got grooves wore into it running lengthwise with the tractor.

Thank you, going well. All bruising is on left forearm none around cuts on face. Above right eye still puffed to mess with cataract affected eye,, so no real problem.

Managed to piece together the entire PTO side of the MS250 by digging thru boxes of saved misc.

Still short a chain brake cover and clutch cover.

Maybe a fellow midlander has those??

Got my choice of .325” or 3/8” LP. Which would be appropriate?

Modify a Walmart Poulan bar to fit maybe. [emoji848]

I likely have the parts you need in the shop at my cabin, but it will be a few weeks before I can check.
.325 will cut much better than 3/8 LP. I may even have a used bar. Don't know what pitch it is till I check tho.

Thanks for the offer but I’ll visit Jeffs Small engines tomorrow. I know he has a stash of misc small Stihl parts. May even score a carcass with a guide bar. [emoji1696]

Then there is a place in Hiawatha, Kansas, Shockley Equipment.
