We call it water oak around here. Dang stuff is wet. I have no market for it in the log.
We have water oak here too..
It sorta goes into the “Red” family, but yes, takes forever to dry.. I mill it sometimes into beams...

They crack, but stay mostly straight. Lol

Picked up this old case model L in a package deal yesterday. ‘36 model I’m told. Appears to be original paint. Gonna try to get her running again and Prlly move it along. It’s a distillate tractor my understanding. Anyone ever played with one of these?

It can be yours! Lol. He’s got a restored 8n with a Sherman trans also. He said it would run 40 mph.

I raked hay, hauled hogs & plowed with an 8n. My arse didn’t like bouncing around on that steel seat 35-40 years ago, I wouldn’t care to do so today. Let alone winging down the road at 40mph on that crazy buggy.

My folks neighbor had an old Case that looked similar to that. It set in a shed from before my birth until about 15 years ago. The owners refused several offers for it. I guess they finally sold it, it had some sort of tiller on the back of it. They claimed it was a railroad tractor & the tiller had something to do with railroad beds.

Good morning y'all

Question, my log splitter fuel tank has corrosion. I really can't get to it with a wire brush. Any recommendations on a chemical that might break it up?

Vinegar but takes a min. I’ve welded a chain to a round rod and put in a drill and worked decent. There is a product called evaporust I’ve heard good things about but never tried it myself.

White vinegar works good but it rusts worse after cleaning
