Is it possibly a Hawthorn tree ? Honey Locust looks similar but has red/black thorns. Someone posted a pic like that on FHC & I can’t remember for sure what it was.

The next project, a Partner R11 rebranded as a HOE. Has a Tilly HL so that’s a good thing. And if it has spark we’ll be making some noise and smoke!

Went over by Matt’s this morning and road tripped my new semis in. Left this morning at 2:30. Got back right at 9pm. Ended up about 310-320 miles we drove her in. Has a few things to fix but excited to have something like these. The white truck has a twin stick the green has an Allison. Pretty neat old truck.

There is a extensive grove of that up at Elam Bend Wildlife area where we used to go deer hunting.

Had to carry a tire plug kit in the truck to deal with traveling thru the area. [emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959]

For you or the tires [emoji43]‍[emoji94][emoji2957]

BAM, I think you nailed it based on pictures on the web. i will check to see if it bears fruit this spring. I have never seen anything like it. It is on a trail I walk, in a park.
The fruit is a powerful zest .

The fruit is about the size of a golf ball but a little bigger.

The only native citrus that grows in Oklahoma

It don’t get this far north does it?
I live in thorn central, and I’ve never seen it here.

As a matter of fact, I am burning some thorns in the woodstove right now.

Not my favorite, but locust happens.. gets better with age. It’s tolerable at a year, but it graduates up to downright usable at two years old.

Never seen it here, but the reading on it says zone 6 and will tolerate frost and snow to a point. Invasive in the south originally from china and that area. Be like the pears before too long.

We had a great big Black Locust tree on our place when we moved here.
We cut it down, but the seeds seem to get everywhere. There are new ones sprouting up all over the place every year.
I reckon they work about like sin...

But they make great fence posts
Straighter than hedge [emoji106]
