How do gentlemen? I hope everyone is doing good. Been a bit since I've been on here.

Picked me up a MS 390 a couple weeks ago from a buddy. Pretty strong little saw it seems, for being a "farm and ranch" level saw. It's older, but runs great. 25" bar and came with 3 chains. I'll get some pictures tomorrow and post them up.

I had one a few years ago. Muffler mod and fattened the carb up and that thing was amazing. I should have kept it and put it in my work saw line up.
:)

They are good little saws it seems. I am really impressed with it. Sometimes, I just don't want to use my 461's for bucking wood in my piles, so I thought a smaller saw would be nice and then this one came along. It's got a 25" bar and I bucked through a 3' round, just to make it grunt a bit. It did it decent enough, considering.

I have several old McCulloch's still, that are 65cc or under, but this this 390 is quite a bit smoother than those old rigid saws. I'd almost like to find another one, because I like to have duplicates, but we'll see. The used saw market is basically non-existent out here.

Morning everybody.
Taking the Van east today for a 3 hour road test to see how it'll do on a 10 hour trip next week.
It's got almost 300 miles on the engine now and that's a combination city/highway driving.
:)

Most any burnt 029 farm boss type carcass gets slammed with a Farmertec 390 engine and kicked out the door here.

SOP with a 3/8” x 20”. [emoji108]

Trip for pizza was great.
A.J. and James were out helping cut wood with a neighbor.
Abe was at the store helping out. Abe has really shot up, too. Geez he's tall now.
Fuel economy on the Van is 13.1 mpg. But it performed very well on the trip. Should do well this coming Tuesday.

My brother drove a 1 ton dually, with the V10 and flatbed, for a construction company. He said 10 uphill, downhill, in the wind, with the wind, 55, or 75. A little less if loaded down and pulling (8-9). I hope Steve gets better

From what I'm reading on some V10 forums is that they just don't get good fuel economy and I should expect 10-12 or less. The GTG Van I had, a 1996 3/4 ton with a 351W, got 13 at the best and 8 pulling my 20 ft camper. The reality is that these things are work horses and are as streamlined as a cinder block. Empty, I'm hoping for 13ish
It will be packed full front to back, top to bottom, when we leave Tuesday with my granddaughters stuff. Probably in the neighborhood of 1000lbs.
