I don't if any of y'all are thrifty (cheap) like me, but I scrounged some decent tin roofing from a barn blowdown a while back. It has old nail holes of course, but would be good for a shop or barn. A little dab of roofing patch in spots and it would be good enough for the girls I date. I think I have enough to share.

I couldn't bring it myself, but I'll bet Workshop could take it up there if I asked nice... Do we have an emoji for throwing someone under the bus?

I believe I measured them at 28 feet. It was a commercial barn and the tin is 25+ years old. It's the stuff that's 4 times thicker than the steel in any modern car. Pretty sure it's thick enough a guy could weld it if he was so inclined.

Cobey - figure out what length you want - a length Steve can manage - and I'll figure out some way to cut it. Maybe a cutting torch....

What sort of time frame are we looking at? I'm swamped for the next couple of weeks. July eases up a little bit.

I am about to do the same thing. I was "gifted" these buildings to take down and use for parts or reassemble. Anyone want to come help?


40x40 galvanized tin with big beams. And 3 sliding hanger doors.

"Lester" 24x36 with 2x standard size garage doors and good working garage door openers.

The real catch is that the tin is nailed on but I'm working on a slick removal system for that problem.

My trailer is 10 ft. I've got a cutoff wheel we can cut it with.

There are cutters that are made just for that. They are like a pair of heavy duty side cutters, except they cut on the very end like horse hoof trimmers. You just chop the nails off and leave them in the lumber. They use them for tearing down chicken barns.
If the nails were placed in the top of the rib like they are supposed to be, then you can pull the nails out after you get the tin off.

If the nails were placed in the top of the rib like they are supposed to be, then you can pull the nails out after you get the tin off.

Yeah I know they're called end nippers. I'm working on a high test drill head that will zip the nails of quicker and easier with a 18v lithium drill
