Good morning!

Had the neighbor come and we got a couple of hogs shot and hung up yesterday afternoon.
Then mom and my sister-in-law brought a cow over in coolers and got that ground up in our grinder last night. I got off easy on the cow by being the knife sharpener.
I am going to be tired of dealing with meat by the time we get these hogs done though.
They were 250-300lbs each (live weight).
Kinda warm for pork...
Unless they’re hanging in coolers, you’re gonna want to get them cut up quick.. what’s temp there?

When Thomas gets his gator farm going, then I might start buying all my meat from him.
He can probably even deliver for a nominal fee. We aren't that far.
This warm weather is going to help make his dream a reality.

No prehistoric lizard farming here. Plenty of beef and chicken to eat, and they won't eat you back.

Are they waiting on him to do just that (eat someone) before they remove him?
He's wild and don't like people,, he's hard to photograph, there are around 120 total in the refuge

A 9 footer was icing and you could touch is nose sticking out of the ice

How do gentlemen?! We are having the type of weather I love, 45, sunny and zero wind. I'm a cold weather guy, but don't care for a ton of wind when it is cooler. These are the types of days, where burning cottonwood is pretty nice. I don't like burning "the good stuff" on days where I'm just trying to knock the chill off and don't need much heat throughout the day.

Edit: I hope everyone is having a good productive Wednesday!

Got the hogs iced down in coolers earlier today.
That will buy me a few days to get them chopped up and packaged.
Sure is beautiful out (aside from the mud)!
Get that meat temp down to 35 and it’ll hold a looong time...

Over 40, and it gets sketchy...

Pork makes so much sense on so many fronts but it’s such a pain in the ass.

Good morning y'all. I saw a MS461 on a dealer shelf yesterday. I thought that one had been discontinued? Have any of you compared it to the older 441 or newer 462?

When I bought my 2 461's, my dealer told me he couldn't get any more, but I know other parts of the country could still get them. So maybe it was regional, or they are just limited, not sure. Never ran a 441 or 462, but I'm more than happy with my 2 461's.

The 461 I saw was at Northern Tool, a big box store here in Wichita. I bet Stihl is shipping leftover old models to the box stores since they wont know the difference. I was disappointed in Stihl when they sold out their ma and pop shops but it was inevitable I suppose.
