Not really,, the "green idiots " forced so many gas and coal plants we are now generation short ,

Obama administration killed us in generation sector.

And it seems the 250 windmills east of us are not spinning, cuz they had their props ice up.
Not sure how long that'll last..

I'm guessing the frozen Nat Gas pipelines didn't help matters..

Good morning, Gentlemen!
-11 here. No fresh snow during the night.
I think we have around 6 inches out there.

Had to start filling the stove 3 times a day to keep up in this weather.

We are blessed to have a good stock of wood, and a roof over our heads!

And coffee. Glad we have coffee...

I'm very blessed, not a day goes by w/o quite a several thank YOU's for what is and what ain't. Appears the more thankful I am the more shows up.
Gotta laugh at me, tractor is at a spot I'll haft get both cars outa da way to plow the drive. Snows 2 deep for cars to get out of their own snow free spot and one wood need be close enough to jump tractor battery  glad for sunshine all day.

Got to do a little plowing today. Drive down to a disabled vet friend of mine and done their drive. Soo glad I had a heated cab. Makes it much better. We got between 5-9” out of that last wave. The drifts were wat was bad. 3’+ were common.

Our oldest daughter & her family live on the south side of KC, her & her husband were all fired up about the rolling blackouts also, I told my wife to wait until they get their next gas bill from the city, since natural prices have went up exponentially also.

My sister lives in Maryville MO just across the border from us & said they are having rolling blackouts there also. It must be a KCP & L ( or whatever they are called now ) thing as they provide power to the city of Maryville.

Now on the other hand the local rural electric cooperative in Maryville, is Nodaway Electric & provides power to my folks here in Iowa & they haven’t had any blackouts. I am a on rural electric cooperative based out of Southwest IA & we haven’t had any blackouts either.

I have family that live in maryville

It will def spoil you that’s for sure. But after having one now I’m looking at maybe trading tractors around to have a cab as well. Makes it much nicer.

Picky...picky, was a time an umbrella over cast iron seat was luxury:D

My grandpa ran an old John Deere combine that didn't have a cab, just a yellow umbrella sorta thing. He ran that 35 years, until 2005, when he passed away. It was manageable since he didn't have but 3 quarters to farm, but still.

Lol! This has been something else for sure. I'm thankful my house isn't any bigger than what it is, or my stove would've struggled to keep up. She was going through the wood pretty good. Over twice as much this past week as I normally go through in a week with 20-30 degree weather.

I don't recall in my life, having a stretch of temperatures like we've had. We've had single digits with negative overnight temps for a couple 2 or 3 days before and then it went back to normal, but it hadn't broke 12 degrees for a week and a half and for a 4 day stretch over the weekend, the highest it got was 6 degrees, with 2 days of a high of 1 degree, without wind chill. Thankfully, we only had bad wind 2 or 3 of those days. Then again, it doesn't take but 15-20 mph worth of wind in single digits, to make things pretty miserable.

Today it finally got up to 23 degrees and it felt like a heatwave. It made me think of the movie Grumpy Old Men, where Walter Matthau walked out his door, deep snow everywhere, singing "we're having a heat wave, a tropical heat wave".

Sounds like alot have struggled with power outages. We've actually had power the whole time, which is pretty amazing, considering how many times we have outages out here. Somehow things have stayed on.

Good grief. Maybe I should check in a bit more often, so I don't have to type a novel when I do! :-)

I hope everyone is doing good and hanging in there!

Morning everybody! Looks like I'm going to survive the deep freeze of the last few days. Had some broken water lines yesterday, but with the help of a buddy thats a plumber, we got it fixed and water back on. Road in front of my house is still 4wd territory, so probably going to miss work again today!
Question for the husqvarna guys. Will a 272 piston and cylinder fit on a 268xp? Crankshaft is the same part number and so is the cylinder gasket, so i think it will.
