morning everyone. new to the forum. found the midlander section. i'm in springfield mo.

always wanted a stihl chainsaw after dealing with a crappy poulan/craftsman that never had any power.

thanks to this forum i've got a MMWS 261C on order. already have a 18" sugi bar on standby for it.

have a great weekend!

Welcome. You are going to love that saw. Would like to have one myself; but like Scrooge, I have too many already

So what is the displacement of the Walmart Poulan 3314?

I wrangled some old hedge posts that I stumbled across in a brush pile on one of the farms my brother rents. Wasn’t to bad loading them except the biggest one was on the bottom of the pile, had to give an extra grunt or two to get it thrown on.

Most of us don't have a color preference.
And then, there are others that definatly do. :)
I currently have a 3 saw plan.
Dolmar PS 510 (80% of the work)
Echo CS 670 (for bigger stuff)
Husqvarna 390 XP. (For the really big stuff)
That only when you are serious.;);););)

I was thinking of cutting some wood, if I was hiding in the timber it wouldn’t be bad but all of my stuff is out in the open. I don’t mind cold temps but the wind is non-starter for me. This temperature swing may make my sinuses start to revolt again

Montre of every midwesterner, It would be perfect if it wasn't for the wind.

What's your color of choice? seems like all saws are a personal pref like the ford and chevy guys with trucks. I went with stihl since my FIL has had good luck with his Stihls. My FIL is a ford guy but I can't fault him for that. haha.

I grew up cutting with my dad (not professionally- just for heat) and he used mcculloch chainsaws. his saws always ran good.
Stick with the Stihls, they good. Now Jonsereds, they're absolute junk amd should be avoided at all costs.

Welcome, I myself run Jonsereds, dolmars and old Partners. Stihls are for trading:D:D. Owned a few sold them all but that was my intent when I bought them. They sell very well.
