What size are the spindles, Chet?
These tire, 4 of them, have less than 300 miles on them. 20.5 x 8.0 x 10's. Ten ply rated. 4 bolt wheels. Chinese tires. I found a replacement at Orcheln's in Mt. Home, Ark down here.
Also Chinese. Luckily I had a spare and pulled over as soon as it happened. Back on the road in less than 15 minutes.
What was the date code on those tires, Steve?

I'm thinking either it ran over something or just plain poor construction. I'm really particular about taking care of my tires. Always checking air pressure and not to overload them. I'd guess the total load, including trailer was a little over 2k lbs. No where close to maximum what 4 tires can carry. The first thing I checked after I pulled over was tire temp. I was expecting a scalding hot tire. All tires were just barely warm to touch. If it ran over something I have to wonder how come the truck didn't catch it first, seeing that the trailer follows the same track.
I also watch my speed as these are max sustained speed of 62 mph. I was a little under 60.
I'm going to say it was a junk tire, which has me concerned about the rest of them. The only reason I changed tires is because the ones that were on it were old. Other than that they had great tread depth.

Possibly 56-3218
Just curious as if there were a "0" in front of the 3218, they would have been manufactured August 6, 2003. I've also seen recalls on several Chinese tires due to a problem with the curing process causing the belts to separate from the tread layer.

That would make sense in this case.

Put a 1 inch hole in the front of that muffler. Really wakes those things up.
:)

The condition of the muffler now is, the baffle will slide out and bolt on separately.

It’s well past the weld back up stage. [emoji21]

Jack Horner’s likely will have one up in the mezzanine. [emoji1696]
