3.15” here yesterday afternoon/overnight, the creeks are milky colored but not really moving much. The dirt road behind the house is dry enough this evening to drive down without picking up on the tires. I didn’t realize we were that dry.

A little before 6 got caught in rain heavy enough that people pulled to the side and my car wood only go half the speed limit. Visibility was short, til I got to destination 20 miles away and got inside mostly dry.
Heard the thunder from my place.... rain was 3 or more miles north. Gotta see if ranch got wet or not

Those soy beans were planted four weeks ago. 2 inches deep. Most actually came up with the moisture that was in the ground after I had chisel plowed it. Those hearty little buggers have waited all this time for the first drink.

Any of you gents in MO use MFA bar & chain oil? I bought a case to see how I like it. I can’t think it’s any different than the FVP or TractorSupply stuff. It’s on sale for $6.14 gallon, $289 for a 55gallon drum thru the end of August. My Dad & brother use b/c oil in the oilers of the big balers, apparently my brother had been buying it at from his buddy @ NAPA, I told him that there were cheaper places to get it & after some research found out MFA sells it. Now I don’t have to go to Menards or Tractor Supply, It’s a 15 min drive or have it delivered when they bring fuel up for my brother.

I’ve never used their bc oil. I’ve used a lot of their hyd oil. It’s real good. Purple synthetic of some type. You should be good to go with their stuff.

I am sure it will be good stuff, I will have 3 kinds to run a comparison on NAPA $12, FVP $5.25 & MFA $6.14 My brother has always got his farm diesel from MFA and never had any problems. I always liked stopping @ the MFA Card-Trols in MO & NE AR when I would pass thru with the truck. I’ve never had any problems with their diesel.

I can't imagine one bar oil being better than the next, at least not enough to make me want to pay 2-4 times the price of the cheap stuff. I would buy the cheapest stuff I can find. I know thinner oil is better in the winter (especially up north), but if it is that cold (to make a difference in bar oil), you aren't going to find me cutting wood, unless it is a charity cut; and I usually get stuck behind a splitter at those.
