I've spoken with a couple vets who were gratefully amazed at the "trash can" sized shells falling so close and on target from the USS Missouri 16" guns, floating off shore miles away

We had a joint exercise with an ARVN unit midway between Ahn Khe and the coast.

The New Jersey blew us an LZ on a convenient hill top. Impressive it was.

Anyone looking to get a beef or hog processed, better call and schedule now if you want it done sometime in January of 2021..

This *s-word has gotten out of hand.

Have to agree! Same way around here. And city folk are making a run on freezers now! From no tp to this BS!

Another round of storms rolling in to the Blacksnake Hills.

Joseph Robidoux established his fur trading post on Blacksnake Creek where it joined the Missouri River. Hence the name.

Joe had a bazillion children and streets in Joetown are named after them. Not many are easy to spell, being French.

That’s my guy too..
The lady I talked to was hoping there would be a few cancellations by September and I’m on standby for whenever someone drops out starting September.
And have one scheduled same day as you for backup.

Ely got a 175 pound hog for $25 last fall and we processed him..
We got it done, but it was awkward and the pork was less than the best it could have been.
When Ely killed it, it didn’t go as planned..

There’s an art to a proper kill and bleed..
J and J processing does a proper job for me.
So far anyway. 3 steers and a couple hogs.
I deliver to them a fat, docile critter.
They make sure it gets its lights put out and bled with as little stress as possible.

Nice thing is that corn harvest will be over and I can buy some out of the bin and load them up for couple months before butcher. If they call with a cancellation before hand I have a big boy that can go right in now. Got to have cold hanging space to do things right and I don't have time to mess with all that right now.

Hopefully they get a cancellation..
Once those fellas hit 1000 pounds, they can really eat.. guess you could try and drag him out a few months before he hits 1500 pounds..

My 3 are currently consuming 25 lbs of grain daily.

Good thing they’re only 6-6 and 800 lbs currently.

Mother told me yesterday that all the lockers around here are booked up to January as well. Years ago my folks had a fella come to the farm, shot the hog/calf in the lot, gutted & skinned it right there, then hauled it to his butcher shop swinging from the yard arms on the back of his pickup. I believe there is still a fella from down around Maryville that still does it.
