Question on a Sthil MS440 ,

The cylinder is damaged and clutch side bearing is VERY bad , nearly 1/8 inch of play .

Found what damaged saw , the air cleaner was leaking on bottom...

Question, how much does it cost for total rebuild if the case is not damaged???
We're talking labor and parts .

I figured $300 plus at best , saw not really
Worth it IMHO .

Saw is very clean though

I've got a big bore 460 p&c that may fit! A lil bit of exhaust porting might make it more interesting if; ya know, open up the sides no more than 70% of bore diameter maybe file the piston edge @ exhaust to match the curve of the port for the largest opening at highest pressure IIRC oh wait! How much is shipping to 63650? lol

If so, salvage parts and *s-word can it.

Yes, it all hinges on the case being good to go.

Could easily be the flywheel side plastic ball separator in the bearing. I’ve come across a few melted/gone.
