I apologize for being absent the last couple of days. My job requires quite a bit of travel from time to time and this week has been a busy one on the road for me. Glad to be home and near my chainsa... errr ... Family again.

I appreciate the continued tips and ideas for best / most important lessons for my son, Mason. I have told him he has to become proficient and safe with his new saw before we consider any more mods. He is a motivated student! Please keep the tips and ideas coming if you think of more. I had planned on using your thoughts to add some credibility to my own, but it turns out I've learned a couple of things, too. There really is a wealth of knowledge and experience here. Best part is you all are willing to share. Thank you!

Just make sure it's tuned to 13,900 or lower when well warmed..
The well warmed part is very important to those Saws.. Cause what seems way fat when first running, is lean once fully heated..
Or in an extended cut.

I hate that for you. FWIW, I have had to have mine repaired a few times also. It sucks because I get bent over at the welding shop.

Sorry Thomas, I was going to make a comment about helping you out but I know damm well someone would make
a smart remark about the getting bent over part..................
