Always liked burning elm. Splitting it not so much.
Don't worry Cobey.People around here seem to like burning elm. It's a good thing too, because they are all dying![]()
Resilient they are..Elms start everywhere where you don't want them. Next to your foundation, crack in the sidewalk, flower bed, etc..[emoji21]
I have some I cut off below grade but they come back again and again.
I think I know that nerdWe got a new addition th the office staff today..
I think she's gonna be good help..
I think her husband is a little "off" though..
Something about being a chainsaw nerd..
Worse yet, I think he likes yellow saws.
But we won't hold that against her.
Well, I've got about 3/4 or better of a cord of Siberian Elm, Silver Maple and Chestnut Oak to get form a friend's house. A tree service came in and did some work and the bill was less if I hauled off the wood. They supposedly cut it into firewood chucks, which very in length from 10"-31"... SMH
I will be going over there soon with the 201T and probably the 562 to get everything about 18" (for my own consumption) and take the S.S. with me to make short work of the splits... That will be an interesting afternoon...
On a different note, does anyone in here know if a 353 Husky P&C will fit on a 350 chassis w/o machine work? I'm about to be given a 350 Husky which needs a P&C (not sure about the carb and bearings). If the other parts are good, I want to replace the P&C for either a spare for myself or a good starter saw for a friend who only has used creamsickles... If I keep it, it will get a 346xp top end, but for Him a 353 might be better. Opinions?

350 and 353 45mm cylinders are the same. Just the piston is different. 353 had a flat top piston and 350 has a dished piston. All other parts interchange. 353 has a mag case, and 350 is plastic. If it's just for a firewood buddy and you don't want to put much in it, is just buy a 353 flat piston and build it. If you want some more spice to it, put a 346 top end on it. Both will serve him well. This series of saws has become my favorite. With a 346 p/c on it they are fun light firewood saws.Well, I've got about 3/4 or better of a cord of Siberian Elm, Silver Maple and Chestnut Oak to get form a friend's house. Give it a good scrub with a bristle or wire brush and it'll turn bright. BTW good idea to wear gloves as the black sticks pretty tight to skin.So this is the bar off the barker gt6. I soaked it in vinegar and water for couple days and when I wipe it down it looks black and the rag would be black. So guessing it's been painted.would that been factory or someone did it.this what it looks like now![]()

I'll have to agree. People who like yellow saws are a little off base.![]()
