This "fix it myself" project is over. I have messed up the spring trying to get it into the right position, even tried to wrap it around again for more tension. This saw is going to a shop or I am sending it to one of you guys to fix. I don't have the patience or the skills, which is why I have back up saws, and send out the broke ones. Fortunately, I seldom need any repairs. Thanks for your help and patience. We tried.
Don't be hard on your self I ve broken lots of stuff in the process of fixing them. That's part of learning.

Part of refurbing my splitter. Making a new/better hydraulic tank. Some of the parts came from Marc. Thanks buddy.
This will be better than the old tank, which was an old gas tank from the original hiway sign trailer.

Are you gonna have that ready by the 5th? I can bring my old workhorse. It ain't pretty but it splits wood. I prefer to call mine "custom built", but that's just a nice way to say I built it out of crap laying around the shop.

If breaking stuff is part of learning..... I should be a genius!

Seriously, +1 on WKEND LUMBERJACK's post. I've broken lots of stuff in the process of figuring something out.

The goal is to have it ready by the 5th. If I bring it to Thomas's, I'll probably have to put it on my trailer. The splitters tires aren't the greatest.

I wish I had a dollar for everything I broke while trying to fix it, I'd probably have my own private island somewhere.
Like Hawaii.

My dad told me if you break it while trying to fixing it. Remember it was already broken. What he was trying to say was hit the dam thing harder. So I don't use a normal hammer. I grab the 5 lb. hammer.
