I'm a little odd..

A chain geek.

There's something about a smooth feeding, laser sharp chain.
You feel like you got a light saber in your hands.

This one was not that smooth, but cut pretty fast. Rakers too low for a medium power saw, but ok for heavy hitters.

What I've got so far. One of those bits is pretty much useless for porting but I got it from dad with the Dremel

Traction elevators use wire rope. The reason it is called wire rope it the
construction. The center core is actually hemp rope saturated with oil.
Throughout the life of the rope the hemp helps provide lubrication and
gives the rope more flexibility than solid stranded wire.

It goes way beyond that though. We do have stranded cable used in some applications. We have different lay configurations, strand counts, hoist ropes, governor ropes and compensation ropes.
Then it goes on to traction elevators, roped hydro's, 2:1 tractions, tractions that have double wrap drivers etc........
