Just a little damp here. Dad and I cut for a while yesterday. Brought home enough to true up my wood pile back to 4 cord where I started burning at. Still have a bunch of trees marked that need to be worked up. Found a real dandy, big ol' white oak yesterday that looks to be just recently dead that will make for some real nice stacks. I'm itching to get it on the ground. Maybe tomorrow. Will spend most of today with family it's looking like.

Got the Husky 41 finished yesterday.
At least I think it's finished. More checking and testing needed.
Got it running but there must be an air leak somewhere. Only runs on full choke. Or the carb needs attention.
It has a boot from the carb to cylinder that is a snug fit app I'd say. Couldn't see any evidence of clamps and the ipl
I found doesn't show clamps in it.
But I just remembered another problem that needs attention and could also be the source. Only 2 bolts holding engine to frame. Engine was all together and installed when I started on it. Engine was very clean, as in new looking, so I'm thinking seals are in good shape. I put motoseal on the intake boot, too during assembly.
Anybody know if it's supposed to have clamps on the intake boot?

Loose/lost bolts is the downfall of all them plastic Poulan and Husky saws.

My ms310 with no guts In the muffler lol I guess my tune is rich. Seems to cut the best there tho
If it cuts best there, then you found the sweet spot. And in that spot, it'll run a good long time. Remember this, trees don't have stop watches, but fast saws are fun!

I may tune it out to 13k or so and see what I get. I had it at 13600 at one point but it was running HOT. Just need to play with it a little ;)

It's running hot because it's running too lean. That's why tuning with a tach is not a good idea. Tune it in the cut. 4 stroking with no load, 4 stoking stops in the cut.

I know how to tune the high end lol hence why it's set well as is. But I'm going to play with it some more
