It's interesting how everything I say or do is criticized ;)
Don't take it too hard, i would say more like constructive criticism. A wise man once told me " you just need to chew up the meat and spit out the bones son!"

Japan. .... made in America. Isnt

No lol to it
Japan can make a saw, and a race motor
Smart guys they are

I was reading a post that was comparing the 200t to the CS355(?or360). Someone who had used both said the Stihl made a bit more power but the Echo would outlast it and others agreed. Several of them were Stihl fans. I was very surprised at that, although I've known Echo makes great products. I've used the heck out of my 200t and it just won't quit(knock on wood).

Like I said. Decompression makes no difference to me. I literally felt no difference either way. Maybe just maybe I don't need that. Ever think of that? Or the fact my personal safety is my damn PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT. Not everyone tells me what to wear equipment. Lol

You got a long ways to go man, I applaud you for wanting to learn and ask questions.

Personal safety is just that, you should find some. No... it's not cool, but it serves a purpose. If you are ever wanting to go to a "gtg" and meet people on this site, I recommend you get some chaps. Most hosts make you sign a waiver to not hold them liable for stupidity on your behalf.

Good luck and Merry Christmas

Hell I was remarking today while loading wood into a trailer, during a near gale wind, that I nee to buy some full out goggles just to keep the crap out of my eyes, while handling in such conditions... I hate digging dust and little bits of crap out of my eyes...

Ethan, I don't think that anyone here is trying to harass you. It occurs to me that there are a lot of people on here with a lot of experience, who are trying to give you the benefit of it, courtesy of hard learned advice. Hell, Carl's probably forgotten more about saws than I've learned yet and I have a solid 25 years of running them. If something comes across as abrasive, just let it pass. I guarantee with the hospitality here, no one is trying to give you crap just to screw with you.

Merry Christmas all!

Be careful...
There's some pitfalls you ain't found yet..
And they can be pretty humbling.

Also, when you get around to modifying the chi com 660, you will want the de comp button.

I could explain why, but you will find out soon enough.

I don't use PPE most of the time, but in some circumstances I do.

Never assume you know better.
Wait, observe, and carry on with what you do.

Sent the 066 out to be real world tested today..
As I had to go to Springfield and spend time with Lisa's grandparents.
It may be mick's last Christmas.. He's a hoot..

While I was there, Dennis was twirling a tree and destroying my bar..
Saw is ok!!!
It outruns his 7910, so that's encouraging.

Will assess the damage to the bar tomorrow..

I don't care what saws you like, what you don't like, hell even rag on me, I don't care, but what matters is the friendships we build right here, the lessons we learn, and the love we give. We harass our favorite friends and try to teach those that care to stick with us. Those lessons that were learned the hard way are the best educators we have and we do try to pass on to others as not to make that mistake in the future. Some of the BEST guys in the chainsaw world are right here in this thread and it has been a pleasure to have shared this thread and the other with all of you!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Nobody is trying to bust your chops, Ethan. I have no doubt you're a very smart young man and a hard worker.
When someone recommends using the decomp on the saw, it's not because they've got great big fuzzy ones. But because it helps save the recoil mechanism from damage. From a safety standpoint, it could also stop a violent kickback of the saw. Thus preventing a possible fatal cut to a leg.
It appears you have a wonderful wife and a newborn child that you let sleep on your chest. Everybody noticed when you said that and everyone admired you a lot for that. I certainly did. It reminded me when I used to do the same thing. Something I will always cherish.
Personal protective equipment is designed for one purpose and one purpose only. To allow you to continue to be with your wife, your child, your father and, believe it or not, with us.
You're old enough to be my grandson.
Stop and think about that for a minute.
Like my own granddaughters, I will watch them and coach them. When they stumble and fall I will help them back up, dust them off and ask them where they went wrong. I will help them realize where they made there mistake. And sometimes I will scold them for their mistake. But I will always have their back.
I think I can speak for everybody here in that no one dislikes you, Ethan.
And more than one here has your back.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Pay attention to what's said, not how it's said. Everybody has been pouring tons of information to you. I'm 60 years old and have learned more than you could possibly know. But I don't know everything. I don't know how to read a degree wheel. I'm not that good at sharpening a chain. Im a better auto mechanic than I am a saw mechanic. I'll be the first to say"I don't know". And I'd like to think everybody here respects me for that.
Now, with that being said, I think you're a fine young man. I want to wish you a very merry Christmas and to your wife and child the same.
Be safe my friend.

Nope. Its actually going to Antiques mall in Joplin. Its called Rangeline Antique Mall. R.A.M. are their initials and the owner likes rams. They have several mounted animals and sculptures in the store including a full elk mount. Its a pretty impressive store actually....worth checking out if you are ever driving through Joplin Mo!!
