@awol, The wire-like handle that you can push down on?

I had to go out and fiddle with the Makita before church. I pulled the muffler, and the piston and cylinder look perfect. I blew a whole pile of sawdust and grime out of it too. I fueled it up and learned the the tank vent is bad because it dumps fuel when it is tipped over. Also, the chain brake band drags real bad. It started right up on a few pulls though, and seems to run fine!

Not too bad for a $10 bill for the 2 of them.

Iffin' that Makita is the same as a Dolmar 520, it is a very good saw.[emoji106]

Dolmar: Everything a Stihl or Husqvarna wants to be.[emoji108]

I did some reading, and it is supposed to be equal to a Dolly 111i at 52cc

Jason, that's likely a 2-10DSP, I think the decomp button can be seen in the handle.

We're in Indianapolis, headed home with over a ton of old Jonsered plunder:

I've got a couple 111's. Very nice saws.
Like to have a 6100, too. One of these years. :)

Got my log lift back working on my splitter again. I need to make the arm about 12-18 inches longer though. When I put the new axle and springs under it, it raised the splitter some. :)

Actually Brian Winter brought by a MS441 one summer day last year. The decomp stem had disappeared. I looked it over a good while before I put one in for him. He must have got lucky and it passed on without wrecking the top end.

When dealing with meat processing..
I hate having to hurry..
I want it about freezing out.
But that was not the case today..
Though it was at least cool and cloudy.
The only thing worse was when it was so cold the meat was freezing when trying to process it after several hours. That was a pretty rough day

True.
But if ya wanna kill and grind the same day, with limited freezer space, being too cold is just right..
Plus you can make use of all the extra fat on a hog. Nuthin better than fresh lard to fry stuff.
But when it's warm, you have to get the quarters and side meat cut out and in the freezer quick.
A lot of useable stuff goes to the dogs.
