I have nothing planned that day, I will try to be there with at least one of my boys.Is December 7 a good date to cut and split the pecan logs?
Need feedback from those who may be available or not.

Unusual how so many cars have multi piece spark plugs when they are removed and replaced with single piece plugs@Workshop
Oh the joys of changing spark plugs on the 04-08 5.4 Triton.
I did Brenda’s a few years back, don’t really want to ever do that again.
It least now it has the 1 piece plugs and plenty of antiseize on them.
And, use dime bait, catch dime fish.
The biggest problem I’ve found with the Triton engine spark plugs isn’t from the plugs or the cylinder heads. I’ve talked with several of the technicians I work with (Ford) and they tell me from the repairs they’ve had to do concerning plug problems is that the average guy at home that changes his plugs is over torquing them and not using antiseize compound. When I sold parts for a living one thing I noticed, on every box of tapered seat plugs was this simple direction. Finger tight then 1/16th of a turn. Ford actually says 15 ft lbs of torque which is 1/16th of a turn. Antiseize compound should be a no brainer. Steel spark plugs, aluminum head. Disemiler metals will corrode together. I like the Triton engines. They have Nickasil coated cylinders. My Van has the 6.8 V10. When I got it the Van had 439,000 miles on it. The only reason I had to rebuild it was because 1 rod bearing relocated itself to the oil pan. When I pulled the engine and removed the cylinder heads I found no ring ridge. Zero. Standard size bore from top to bottom. The current 5.4 I’m rebuilding (same reason) I found the exact same thing. No ring ridge, standard bore size top to bottom. The cam phasers that everyone has problems with has to do with, A. Not changing the oil often enough and B. Not running a good grade of full synthetic oil. Without these two steps in maintaining the engine you’re going to have problems with the phasers. Guaranteed.@Workshop
