I have never cared for cast iron that much; not really non stick, and will rust without proper maintenance. Maybe I need to give it another try.

This reminded me of an old thread on here. I found it, if you care to resurrect it:

All truly good people use cast iron.....😉

Of course, when you shoot yourself in the finger with the nail gun, make sure it’s just through the meaty part.. it’s easier to pull out.
Thanks for the tip......I've never tried shooting myself, but it's good to know the best practices for such things.

Looks to be warmer this week than last, mid to upper 80’s. I was informed that my brother is going to start running some beans today.

I have been making the 160 mile round trip to an ethanol plant in central Iowa & haven’t seen any corn or beans being harvested just some chopping being done.

Trying to make the flattest pallets I can for stacking milled lumber for drying. Ran all the wood thru the planer last weekend. Now I need to make a level spot to store the pallets. My sawmills hydraulic log turner should be here today.

Looks like a very good idea. 👍

If it was me, I'd also attach bunks on top as well so's I could fork lumber off without getting the pallet if I so desired.

Personally I'd use 2x4s on edge for that, to afford less contact without needing a sticker under my first layer of boards.

Just thinking out loud......

Next ones will be planed 2x4's. Just using up some old stock. Blocks are 2.5x2.5 blocks. Been watching a bunch of Hobby Hardwoods on Youtube. I just ordered some breeze way stickers to try. Making all my old 1x1 stickers into firewood. Lesson learned on how to dry wood.
