I got the rest of Silver Maple all split & stacked
Split & laid out a bunch of White Pine & a few Mulberry rounds. I figure the pine will dry quickly. Hand splitting is very cathartic for me & much needed lately.
At least one of my assistants wasn’t loafing today.

He is pretty darn good dog, they get much bigger than that & he waits on big sister to get there but he is usually the one finding them.
He only weighs about 25# soaking wet, Jetta weighs in around 80#.

I dumped 1.37” out of the gauge this morning, guessers are bloviating about more this week.
Pudgy was raising hell this morning, not a peep out of Jetta. I poked my head out of the house so I could hear better, I could distinguish a different bark/yip. There was a coyote about 6 rows deep in the corn.
I meandered down there to check things out. Pudgy was all bristled up from ears to tail & barking away. Jetta was standing behind him with her tail between her legs then abandoned him to see if she could get some attention from me.
Meanest, nastiest b*tch you ever saw but also the biggest coward I’ve ever been around.

Likes to be large & in charge when it comes to vehicle seating, likes to bully little brother for position, sits on him or just shoved him out of the way. Constantly moving trying reposition herself to get comfortable, finally falls asleep & promptly falls out of seat, looks at me like she’s been throw to the floor. Rinse & repeat.
Gets in the truck, jumps in co-pilot seat, gets shoved out by big sister, goes to the bunk & only moves about twice in 6-8hours unless spoken to, sleeps like the dead.
Happens every time they go in the truck, one of them has it figured out…

Looks like (on radar) Matt, Steve and the rest over to Rolla even West Plains by noon will have a fair amount of rain. If it gets here on schedule 2:45 or so the heavy leading edge will get here and then fall thru early morning on n off
