My friend Alan carried off the Homelite piston to shorten the skirt. Do a mock up and see how nasty the compression will be before we cut some off the crown.
He is also going to make a bearing driver for the drawn cup needle bearings in Poulan and Remys.

Honestly, I haven't done a fool thing with it yet. I have it in the den, so at least I'm looking at it every night. Somewhere in the junk pile I might actually have a knob for the filter cover.
Just haven't been brave enough to go look for it yet. Those that have seen my shop know that my inventory system consists of several piles.

I have two or three of the SL-9 types in the junk. I'll find a good AF knob or entire lid.
The later style knobs are always broken.
