Agree, cold water fish taste better. I like crappie & bluegill caught ice fishing, not so much late summer fish

Well I turned em loose because he was exactly 15" (the minimum length in bull shoals) and I didn't want to argue with the warden.
I'll eat the first legal fish I catch....I just wish Sam had been the lucky one instead of me.....he's pretty bummed!

Mid-march into April white bass do a spawning run as well. Get your timing right and you will have a blast with these. They fight like crazy and can be a decent eating fish. Just cut all the dark red meat off and you will be fine. Crappie spawn will follow that and you can catch them along the banks with jigs and minnows.
