Any of you guys eat liver?

We all absolutely hate it!!! but my wife has decided it's really good for one's health so we're trying to eat it..... but man, it's awful stuff!👎
My grandpa made us eat mountains of liver when I was a kid......I really thought I was going to die from it a few times....I've never been able to stomach the stuff.

Any tips on how to prepare it?
The best way to prepare it is to walk to the trash can. Open the lid. Drop the liver in and let the lid slam shut.

Put it on a hook & use it for catfish bait, feed it to the dogs or do as @WoodAbuser said & throw that nasty stuff in the garbage can.

It is clearly an acquired taste & if I haven’t acquired after 50 years, I think I will quit trying.

Kind of like gizzards, I am not found of eating rocks, no flavor & hard on my teeth.

There are a lot of people that say that liver is good for you. I always wonder if they really know what job the liver does. It takes toxins out of your body. Pretty sure it was in the middle of duin just that when the animal died. I rest my case. At ease, Carry on, Smoke em if u got em.

I saw a lot

My mom can make good liver and onions, me, not so much and I would be the only one in our household unit that would eat it anyway so there's that. I think they're talking -17f tonight and +7f tomorrow. We will see, but need to get a path made to my firewood stash out back.
Have a good weekend and congratulations Steve on the retirement.

I've reasoned that as well, but I'm afraid it ain't that simple.

The nasty stuff really is a super food, like it or not.....and I don't.

My mother cooked to death and it was the most awful stuff full of gristle. Hated it then and still do. Plus I honestly don't think the benefits out way the dangers.

I understand your line of thinking, but organ meats have all been proven to have lots of health benefits.

Honestly, it's been awhile since I've had beef liver. I do eat organ meats from my hogs though.

Good thing we can choose which route to go.

and health wise.

We've pretty seriously studied health & nutrition for over 20 years now, and the overwhelming majority of learned folks agree that liver is a very healthy food.

Don't get me wrong, I think liver is like turds rolled in coagulated blood, and it's certainly not something I'd eat for pleasure.

My final comment in the liver debate. Eat it if you want, but there is absolutely nothing in liver that you can't get from something else in your diet. :icon_cafe:
