I take out hedge logs and push the tops up into the fence rows.. I leave them there for a couple years and when it’s gonna get bitter cold, I go fetch some for overnight burns.

I did the same today brought in some Osage, Oak & some Ponderosa scraps to burn down the coals in the mornings. Most of the Osage is as old or older than I am, i helped Dad set it as fence posts when I was a kid.

It was a beautiful cant and I only needed 4 more boards to finish the order....ended up getting one good board, and a bunch of cracked up barn boards.
