Not funny :(
It was Levis deal one time in Iowa
Stuff happens
Actually, it was hilarious...
There were a LOT of people there..
Everybody was thinking something was bad wrong till I stopped and opened my fuel cap and held it upside down..
Figured that would be worth a laugh or two..
It got plenty. Lol.

Most of these folks knew their way around a saw if I'm guessing right..

Alan? What was your take on most of the folks there.?

I was surprised at the amount of participants and their ability to run saws. It's like we stepped back 30 years in time..

Awesome if you ask me!

So did you, Levi, and Alan have any success? I haven't heard any bragging yet, which has me worried.

There was a bunch of loggers there who definitely knew how to run a saw; kinda just carbon copies of the loggers 'round here.

They had three common classes, where everybody ran the same saw for time, and then a work saw class and open class. Oh, and the crosscut. Levi and I got second with the crosscut; a couple of really old men beat us! I got third I think it was in the biggest common class. There were a lot of people and saws there!

The 9010 won the work saw class.
There was only 2 classes.
Work and open.. I was running the mutt in the open.

Now, there were what they called "common saw" classes. Alan and Levi placed in those I think, but Alan will have to confirm that. I was thinking about fish.

Alan and Levi also entered the crosscut saw class.
They got second in that.. Pretty good I thought.

Lot of good guys there that knew what they were doing. It was a nice surprise..
Mike "a local fella" won the open saw class with his Landrum built alky burning 372 wearing a mike Lee chain. There were at least 4 or 5 saw racing "veterans" there, so yeah, it ran real good.

I still think I coulda beat him with the mutt..

But we'll have to wait till next year to find out!!
Alan cut out iirc with the cart saw, or I believe he would have placed in the top 3 in the open class. It ran real well.
The crowd really enjoyed the old yellow saw.

Sounds like you guys did good to me.

And Alan's cart saw is a show stopper wherever it goes.

Wish I could have made it. I had 3 teens that wanted to stack wood for cash on Saturday. I pay $30 per cord. They stacked 3.33 cord in about 3 hours (8-11am) and wanted to go home. I thought we were just getting started; weather was awesome. If I knew that is all they were going to work, I would have joined you guys instead. We could stack 3 cord on a week night. None of them have ever worked a real day in their life. I guess they got enough money for a new video game and called it a day.

Youngest son is waiting on 2 fuel line connectors for his Bronco 2. His battery is dead, so I looked at it. Asked him if he had checked the water level in it. Looked at me like I had 2 heads. I said, those caps come off. He pulled the caps, no water showing. He went to get a cup full of water, told him to get at least a quart. Took every bit of a quart. It's back on a 2 amp charge now. We'll see tomorrow night if he needs a new one or not.
Only thing left after this is oil and coolant. Right now he doesn't have the twin turbo's mounted or plumbed in. He wants to test start the engine with open headers first. Mainly to check that everything is wired right and the engine will actually start and run. The engine is a 94 in an 87. He had to marry up the 94 underhood harness to the 87 body/dash harness. About 100 hrs work. And wire in the 94 computer. We should be able to crank it before next weekend. I'll get videos and post them of the test firing. Still has a lot of work to do, though to get it driving. He's got to get the driveshafts shortened/lengthened to fit the new drive train. He took the rear and front end from the 94 Ranger (doner vehicle) and put it under the Bronco. Another 80-100 hours. Went from 7.5 gears to 8.8s.
Electrically everything checks out, so it will either fire off or just go "click, click, click".
He's done this on his own. At one point he was getting stuck on the electrical changes he was going to have to do. I dropped a half dozen books in his lap one night and said "All the information you need is in those books, start studying". (Of course I would coach and explain things as he was going along). Between reading books, searching the internet and studying Ford manuals and taking online courses from Ford he has about 1000 hrs in research. Pretty proud of the little guy. He hopes to drive it to a GTG sometime to show you guys. :)
