Hate it when that happens....
I have a really nice wood peavey handle that has a cut in it at about sawmill blade height.

Been there, done that Jim. Cut one of my wheelbarrow metal handles, almost, in half with the saw. Tried to cut chain, does not work well, and the bedliner in the pickup while cutting in the bed so I feel your pain.
