Deer season has officially started here at home. My wife texted & said she wasn’t coming home until the fawn in the yard was gone. I told her I would see her in the morning, the dogs ate the one from the day before overnight…

About 2 or 3 years ago James, one of Alan and Rebekah’s sons showed me his Henry lever action 22. Been wanting one ever since.
Finally got one this evening. Lever action 22 magnum octagonal barrel. Hopefully make it out to the gun range this weekend if it doesn’t rain.

Sweet!

I've got a small herd of Henrys as well.

They are nice for what they cost, and they all shoot very well.
My favorite is my 24" octagon .22lr... I have the same thing in 22 mag but I haven't used it much.

Tom uses a 20" Henry 22 mag for turning off the hogs.....works very well.

You're going to like it!

I want the .44 mag, 24” octagonal barrel..
Or .357 24” barrel..

I like the idea of a rifle to match the hand gun rounds I have.

I've got a .357 in the "all weather" model, and a .45 Colt in blue, both are 20" round barrel.

The octagonal barrels are "neater" though.....

The .45 Colt is a real monster with home-brew loads! with good starline brass it can exceed. 44 mag energy.

Agreed..

Nothing like a 325 grain chunk of lead moving at 1250 FPS to get a critters attention.

I wonder if the Henry rifles that are chambered in 45 long colt can handle the “high pressure” hand loads?
