When we lived in Northern MO, the dairy we worked at had a system that was pulled behind the baler and it would assemble around 10 bales on edge and leave them sit in the field. Then they would come with an attachment on a front end loader and pick up the whole stack and place it on a trailer. We didn't have to manually lift a bale until we fed it. It was all alfalfa. 90 lb bales.

We had a place in the country years ago among some dairy farms. Some friends would put up hay with a machine they drove through the field that picked up the square bales and stacked them up on its bed. Then they drove to the barn and the bed tilted the stack up and set it. It only took 2 of them to do the whole process of cutting, raking, baling and putting it in the barn and never had to get off a tractor.

I think they call them accumulators. Chase’s uncle has a set up sets the bales off in blocks & they run around with a skid loader to load them up.

I believe I will get to see it in action, Chase said he going to square bale 70 acres because a local feed yard wants 4000 small squares.

That’s what I was babbling about.

Something bad is happening under the rear end of the pickup.... can't figure it out.... probably find out when it breaks in half, or the rear end falls out.

An ominous loudish clunk when I put the torque to it in first & second pulling hills.

Sounds kinda like my suburban did when the differential died.... but then it quit right when I pulled into the driveway where Tom could listen and try to see what was up.

I crawled all around down there looking for evidence, but nothing to be seen...

There's lots of phone-dead dips on the trip, I imagine that's where it'll puke & die.

Check the u-joints in the driveline. They can really clink when they lose the needle bearings. If you see any reddish around the bearing cups that is a sure sign they are bad. If you block the tires and put the transmission in neutral then you can wiggle the driveline around and tell if they are bad as well.

I checked em, and they look fine.

Just drove back to the log pile.....no noise.... maybe a rock got in the brakes or something, idk.
I just hope it's cured.....

For $800, wood mizer makes an add on to cut cookies...

Or just lock some planks to the bunks, and run 4” screws in the base of the victim, and start slicing for free.

Not sayin it’s faster than the chainsaw, but they sure are nicer,

And while we were making wedding *s-word....

8x8 wedding arch made from 2” rough cut oak.

Looks more like a gallows.. I think a hangman’s noose dangling from the middle would be appropriate..

That's funny. My first thought was that it looked like gallows as well.
