Got a surprise 1.18" since 3 pm. It was only a 50% chance, but it came down pretty good.
Maybe tomorrow will be our lucky day, percentage chance for Saturday has increased from 36% (Wednesday) to 68% currently. It's been over 3 weeks since there was enuf to make the wafer in the gauge move.

I never had enough seniority to run the baler either.

Got tired of that sh*t and went my own way.
I helped my brother put up hay 1 time and helped put up hay for my Grandmother a couple of times.
I decided then that cutting firewood in august was better than putting up hay anytime of the year.

We had a place in the country years ago among some dairy farms. Some friends would put up hay with a machine they drove through the field that picked up the square bales and stacked them up on its bed. Then they drove to the barn and the bed tilted the stack up and set it. It only took 2 of them to do the whole process of cutting, raking, baling and putting it in the barn and never had to get off a tractor.

After custom baling for years, a couple hundred squares here and there ain’t too bad.

We still bale a couple thousand straw bales every year too. Whatever it takes to fill the barn.

Last year was about 4500
This year will only need about 2000

New Holland bale wagon..

Great tools when they aren’t broken..

I’ve thought about getting one, but most I’ve found have been pretty clapped out..
