Everything's already frozen.....we'll be packing water through Monday at least.

Yes it is.

Dad has always had his start about the last week of January, then my brother wanted to move them to April, then they had a fall calving herd. Now the have settled back to late December on the heifers & end of January on the others.

The place they calve the cows has a nice big solid old peg built barn with a grove of trees to the north so it blocks the wind pretty well, they building some new pipe fence lots also.

My brother has a buddy calving his heifers for him.

-5 here now. I put in a new waterer last weekend just because of this weather and fed a bale last night. Snow was blowing like mad today and the heaters in these trucks can't keep up with the wind. Cold run back in tonight.

-8 this morning with 2 or so inches of snow. Got out and did six driveways before having to head off to work. I think the low for the day was -12 and windy so not sure what wind chills were.

Lets see. -12 now hi of -4 later. 25 to 50 mph winds. I was going to use a yard stick to show how deep the snow is drifting. Maybe I can find it again in the spring.
I likely haven't mentioned it before but I hate winter.

It's cold.....
Our shoes were all frozen to the floor this morning......for real.
Temp gauge says negative 4°
But there's no wind, that helps it be less stupid out there.

Morning fellas. -6 with a -28 wind chill, but it's supposed to get up to 9 today, with only 25 to 30 mph gusts.
