Evening everybody.

What a mess.....no fun at all......well, other than complaining about it......
If I was a drinking man, I'm sure this project would set a new record for beers required.

Yeah I'll post pictures, but my heart's not in it.....
It's just not my cup of tea, working on old dead barns.....
But I am thankful for the paying work part!

Those boards will “shrink apart”..

Perfect for a return trip to put 3” batt strips between them in a few months..

Then they will last 50 more years...

Yeah they'll shrink alright....
They were planning to put bats on, but I'm going to try and talk em outta bats, because the part that still has the original siding never had bats on it and it really should be done the same way it was done originally.........right?
I've got a big pile of 1x4 there for bats, so we'll see what they decide.

I didn't plan on doing any exhaust porting just didn't now if I should lightly sand the carbon out of exhaust opening
Rough is on the intake side, polished smooth, if not shiny on the exhaust. Turbulence of intake keeps mix airborne. Smooth on exhaust minimizes resistance to out flo.
Engines that use fuel are best thot of as air pumps. Faster the Flo thru= more power/torque made

It all depends on the barn’s purpose...

If it was meant for air flow and not animal housing, then I’d absolutely replicate whatever is on it currently..

The batt’s are only on there for creature and chore guy comfort..

Hence the term.. “polished turd”

The #’s May be all wrong, but polish that bastard anyway..
