I would think the bar itself could be worth that at least

Stamped on the bar Homelite, c17 1954-56 .I've been told. Cheated the auctioneer,. Pulled it outside to get a bid in on it.. Do you know when Allen - Rebecca's auction will be. Or am I still messing up, got the saw as part of my donation to the outcome

@moparnut88

I try to get mine cruising at about 600*.
Start up can run up to 1000* if I don’t get the air turned down soon enough, usually around 800* - 850* on start up.

I run double wall from the stove up, the probe is 18” from the top of the stove.

My stove is a Century 3000 I bought from Menards in Wichita.

I was curious our smoke trail outlet temp is usually around 3-500 at the stack. I was more so curious to how much more thermal energy could be extracted and still have a good draft without forced draft fans.

If it ain’t over 300 degrees here, it’s not hot enough.

If you come by my place early, more can be loaded than in my focus, for better support. Passing it forward especially since I've got no credit, cash and debit card my game. Made a verbal offer of down and monthly rent to own payments 8-9 days ago. This on a property was going on market when seller closed on new property. Voice-mail from while car stuck in driveway said " seller accepts your offer" take a look next week to see if it's what needed or close enough.

What temps do you look for on flue temp?

Well, my thermometer is one of those magnetic stick on things. It doesn't have a probe. It sits about 18-20 inches above the elbow coming out of the stove. It has "zones" on the face. Optimal zone is 300-500. Above that it says overfire danger. From the stove to the ceiling it's standard single wall pipe. At the ceiling junction it turns to triple wall stainless the rest of the way up through the attic and roof and outside. Been meaning to put double wall pipe from the stove to ceiling just haven't got to it yet.
I clean the flue from top to bottom every fall with a brush on a drill. I notice when I get ready to clean it it only has a black powder type buildup that is only about 1/16 thick at the most.
No shiny black stuff at all.
I'm thinking my thermometer is just a cheap peice of junk.

I think it’s telling you what you need to know..
If the flu is dusty and dry, it’s burning hot enough.

I broke into my 2 year old stash of white oak last night... it’s been sitting out there in the wood warehouse aging like a fine wine.. My absolute favorite firewood.. even the exhaust outside the house smells delicious..

If you ever run across creasote glaze, I've become a believer in using a product called Anti-Creo-Soot. After using it, the following season when I went to clean the chimney, there was nothing to clean. The tile liner looked like new.

We let our flu burn really hot once a day. Maybe not an option with a fireplace but with an enclosed stove and hedge....
