At the Seed chow last night, a friend said they ran 1280 acres that averaged 30% & made 214bu. acre. They hauled it to a feed yard & filled a pit. I believe fella he works for has around 12,000 acres. They were running 2 JD 780’s with 16 row heads and a new JD X9. Sean said they were running about 2-2.5mph with the 780’s, the X9 was running 5-5.5mph. Apparently these new X series are designed to run high moisture corn.

Them x9s should be able to pull corn out of thin air for the price they want for them.

Absolutely, $1.2mil sounds a little steep to me.
How many corn growers do you need to have to get one of them Inna co-op?
Are co-ops still de facto in exist? Closest I've been to family farm is Uncles' funeral 14 1/2 years ago. Drive by a place next to St. Francis River, alternates corn with beans in 2 fields. The lower one on upstream side gets flooded once Inna while, that crop looks better than the other side of road that catches less topsoil from fewer flood times I guess

Stars arn’t lining up for me on the Alpina.

I had two #12-24 inserts left and I buggered up the second one on the install.

Bought a dozen off evilbay. Be here by Friday………………maybe. [emoji1696]

Co-ops have become bigger than the sum of their members...

Not a fan of them any more...

Farmers have had to become big enough to go their own way or sell out... small guys are rare and only do it cuz they wanna...

I favor these Blitz jugs for larger amounts of gas up North, but apparently some bear must have thought it was a nice chew toy. No idea where the pour spout and little yellow cap ended up. We had some tooth marks in a jug a few years ago but nothing like this!

Ouch...

That’s gone into the “ludicrous” range...

Just buy a fleet of 9550’s and two for parts...
Well, in theory the fleet deal I agree with but in reality I have first hand experience that says that doesn’t work well; if not planned out well.

So in this years circus that’s called harvest around here my Dad & brother now have 2 combines, 2 auger carts hooked to tractors, 2 Brent 650bu. wagons hooked to tractors, 2 semis, an old grain truck & wait for it. 3 arses to fill all those seats. It would be different if all the ground was centrally located but it’s spread across 2 countries & only one farm has significant acres to lessen the moving process.

I get it...
Of course the outfit Levi is working for has 5 combines, 6 trucks, 700,000 bushel of storage, and 12 guys to do “whatever” it takes to keep going...

There’s lightning and thunder up there and they still running corn and beans as we speak.

There’s the option of running the stuff through the dryer. Some don’t need it I guess. Their problems aren’t like ours in any way... but I guess the parts shortage has had some affect on them...

They aren’t running 9550’s of course..

They got some generation of combines I am not familiar with.. I guess they are rather troublesome...

But not in the know there.
Had 2 of them down Friday.

The #12-24 Helicoil deal.

I have the kit left over from the bad old days when I ran spreadbore Holleys on the vet.

Float bowels always leaked and over tightening produced stripped threads in the carb body.

Watching a friends ‘64 burn was a light bulb moment. [emoji2960]

I changed to a Q-jet. No fuel wetted bowel gaskets. [emoji106]

Old Homelites and Remingtons are full of 12-24 screws. A bonus.

58 and 1.5" of much needed rain. Still playing the waiting game on concrete and the building. I was hoping that this part would be done by now, but they decided that we needed to work extra long hours at work rather than hiring some new people. Decided to hire the whole pour done. Got to talk to Widner and see where we are at.
