Frosty but sunny here.
We need a day to dry out down here.

If I can get a vehicle in there, going to start cutting up a 50 in oak I dropped back in the summer.

I have been working on a big one like that the last couple days. I am so sore I can barely walk. Makes you feel alive...right Matt? The limbs on this tree are much bigger. I don't know if the trunk will go 50" though; I doubt it.

Looks fine for milling:naughty2:

It would be great to mill but I don't have one. No commercial mill takes over 42" here.
This tree was on the west end of a wet in the winter field and was dropped to let more sunshine in.
Watched for ten years and it never produced an acorn, buds galore but no fruit.
The tree had been left during the last two timber cuts. It dominated the west end of the field.
Always thought it would be hollow till I made the face cut.
24' of clear trunk till the leader splits.

Dang one of those things that, in my younger days, wood have me saying wait til I get there! What size posts, beams can you use, etc. Now I know better than trying to drive there with my stuff, much less setting up and trying to do. On the other hand I've got the frame works, long bars (60" & 72") & chains for 661c Stihl power. I use aluminum ladder for guide and 2 screw pipe clamps to hold ladder in place. Thinking aloud in posts again.
Stay safe gents
