I do believe that would have caused some overheating. [emoji848]

42cc China Homelite.

If it runs, cuts and oils the chain, good.

Otherwise it’s going in the trash.

Too damn hot to hunt deer..

Any state south of the mason dixon line should hold off on bow season till November 1.. but for some reason, they they think shooting deer in 70-80 degree weather is a good thing.

Fixed the wood mizer tonight..
The bands I got with it were sharpened..

Crap shoot... 2 out of 3 are barely useable..

Gonna buy a couple new ones and see if they cut any better.,
One thing I can’t stand, is a machine that won’t do its *f-wording job...

Belt installation was not horrible, but not as simple as it should be.. not real happy with wood mizer at this point. But we’ll see if it’ll do what I need in weeks to come..

Is it just a pain to work on, or is it low quality, or too lightly built?

The fact that I am having to work on it at all is what's the pain.
Still don't know how many boards I'm gonna be able to get between band changes. If a guy can't mill a dozen logs without having to change bands, what's the point of owning one? Artistic license??

Interesting,

This brings to mind a couple of questions:

1) are bands available from several manufactures? Import vs. domestic?
2) are there options as far as tooth count?
3) is operation similar to running a mill/lathe were speed and feed rates are adjusted
based on material being cut and cutter type?
4) does the use of band coolant or cutting fluid effect operation and if so does coolant/lube
need to varied dependent on what type of wood you are milling?

Inquiring minds want to know!
