Stopped by my buddy Rick tuckers last night. He had a couple new saws and stuff. Thought this was pretty cool though. Brand NIB Atkins loop of 1/2 complete with paperwork and a bag of rivets tie straps and cutters

plus I forgot to pics but he found a nice 2 sided metal poulan sign from the 70-80's probably. It's in pretty good condition.

After I get Grandpa's Mac 35 functional again, I'm going to have to find a new loop of 1/2" pitch chain for it. It currently has a loop of 1/2 used semi-chisel that cots OK when sharp but nothing to write home about. A round chisel chain would be a welcomed improvement...

I have to put up with this stuff.

Complaint is that the tires lose traction when it's below 40 degrees. It has Supercar Summer tires on it that will crack the sidewalls if they are driven on at temps below 20 degrees.

Now what sacriligious Ashat would order an Automatic Z06??? That's just wrong...

Yes sweet gum is tough to split, near impossible by hand. I have had elm and sycamore that is worse to split. A lot depends on the tree. It is probably not the greatest firewood for heating, but sufficient for an open fireplace IMO. Most of my firewood customers just burn firewood in an open fireplace. I separate the hardwoods for my customers that actually heat with wood. Currently, my mixed stacks have elm (red and white), hackberry, silver maple, ash, yellow pine, sweet gum, and birch. I have had sycamore and soapberry in the past also. Can't think of anymore at the moment. The only wood I have turned down is willow and catalpa. I personally have a fireplace only and burn anything. I now save all the good stuff for the customers.

I'm fairly similar except the softest wood I sell is Silver Maple (Unless I hapen into some piss elm an mix it in sparingly). My Normal "mix" is Hackberry, Mulberry, Red Elm, Ash, Locust and Oaks. If I have a really snobby customer (I usually avoid them) then I'll sell straight Oak, Locust, etc for a premium fee (and I'm currently getting $200/Cord stacked for mixed). Occasionally I will take some Pine or Cedar or other less than ideal wood and will use it for either camp fires or will to sell to some of the younger Airman on base who want a dab of wood for camping but don't want to pay what I normally charge them. It's a win-win for me.

For myself It's just about anything in the shoulder seasons and Locust, Mulberry and Hedge during the cold w/a bit of Hackberry or piss elm mixed in to better oxygenate the fire in my P.E. stove. Otherwise if I burn straight Hedge (and all door seals are good) I'll get clinkers on anything less than about 1/3 throttle...

Got a call today. Asked me if I wanted some silver maple, I said "sure" as long as it is not rotten. Silver maple has a tendency to rot from the inside out and you never know until you take it down. They sent me pics. How come the tree never looks as big in the pictures as it does in person? Anyhow I cut for about an hour and a half. Going back tomorrow to load the trailer and cut some more.

I have taken out a lot of Silver maples and it's amazing how you can cut up 2' of rotted/mealy Styrofoam then get into some solid wood and go back to punky crap in another 2'... It also doesn't weather well when exposed to the elements once split... It IS fantastic starter wood though.

That's pretty cool. I like that. Where'd you get it?
Got the parts on ebay, around 20 bucks
You have to check where it ships from
If it's in China you will wait months sometimes, I got the cover and studs,
And got the adjuster separately.
Let me know and I'll order the parts for you Steve. .... I will try to stock some

Guys does anyone in here have a NOS or mint piston for an 024 Super by chance? I have a farmer friend who has an otherwise nice one and is in need of a piston. The jug is pristine, but the piston is scuffed a bit...

Are they NLA? I just bought an 026 piston a little while back from the dealer for like $40. Just used my last 42mm (024) aftermarket piston Sunday.

Good morning everybody!

Got the Solo 650 put back together Monday and made a couple test cuts last night. Runs like a champ! Gotta get it drained and ready to ship to my aunt in South Carolina. Got a nice visit from Chet, always nice to visit.

Have a great day everybody!
