The 372 I have was done years ago, and has little time on it (maybe 40 tanks in 10 years). It was blown up and rebuilt twice. If you ran it, you'd never guess, by how it was built, and how it looks. Now, I know what I paid for it, and I'not honestly sure if the builder made a dime on it when He sold it to me, given the history it had, but it was worth every penny to me. The fix or don't fix calculus all depends on your current finances, need/desire, it's state and condition, and the other available options/prices. It might be worth redoing all at once, or a piece at a time. It might be a flip and move on.

That depends. Probably $250-350 or more if they fix all of the other crap in the process. Some are lower, so it just depends, but good usually isn't cheap. It also depends on whether your saw needs a new P&C, crank bearings, etc. A total rebuild and porting, you might be closer to $750, in which case a NOS 365, 565, or used, good condition similar sized saw might be more attractive. You'd really have to assess the current saw in order to help answer that question. Something about the infamous line of "your mileage may vary"...
I tested compression, 130 dry .

Had spark, put fuel in carb and tank, started 2nd pull ,,,,,,

But carb needs attention, I bet diaphragm is hard ...

Has one motor mount needs replacing, other than that so far so good on the 365

Spiffy up the 440 and put it up on Craigslist. People mostly looking for small, cheap saws. It should go within a week. [emoji106]

That will finance a piston kit for the 365 and whatever else it may need. Forget the ‘only needs rings’ deal as piston skirt is likely worn. You don’t want a broken skirt to happen. Believe me that’s a mess. [emoji2960]

The Homelite is like a Bic lighter. Thrown away when it quits working.

If you want somewhere to send the little XL I’ll take it off your hands. I have two, one runner and one that should run. Can’t find parts for $hit lol. $25?

Also, if it's running try running it in all positions, including inverted and on both sides, to check for an air leak.
Yep , that will find a leak most generally.

I looked down plug hole , no scuffs.

Motor mount bad and chain guard gone , also a ear is gone off air horn where filter snaps on , you don't happen to have those part numbers?

No I don't, but I'm sure someone has an IPL or could find one. I've never had mine apart, other than to reinstall the muffler...
