I just read a post by Jeremiah Johnson on AS where he mentioned he’s working on a saw that had sheared keyway and backfiring. Post number 55210
Just sayin
Sounds like it has a case of the China virus.Checked that three times. Last time pulled the flywheel to verify part numbers of flywheel and coil. Gap is @ .010”.
It’s good.
Checked for freeporting, it’s good.
Impulse and boot are good. Sealed with 3M weatherstrip glue.
New purge bulb and good connections on lines.
Crank seals, good (it’s a new Farmertec engine.). Base ‘pan’ sealed with Permatex #2. [emoji106]
It’s all down to the [emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959]Zama carb.

I suddenly have a large amount of open space in my shop. Son took his lathe and Barbie Jeep over to his garage the other night.
The Cub now has an indoor bed.

Only 2 backfiring issues I’ve experienced were the coil.
Love to have an 8N. My grandparents bought one new in 1950. They traded in a Cub on it. I used to drive it around on their farm. Unfortunately, I'm out of room and I'm starting to get attached to this little one.
Got this bought today. Gotta pick it up next week maybe. It’s an 8n I’m told. Everything is supposed to work and run good. Anybody need a tractor?! Lol!
