I just read a post by Jeremiah Johnson on AS where he mentioned he’s working on a saw that had sheared keyway and backfiring. Post number 55210
Just sayin

Checked that three times. Last time pulled the flywheel to verify part numbers of flywheel and coil. Gap is @ .010”.

It’s good.

Checked for freeporting, it’s good.

Impulse and boot are good. Sealed with 3M weatherstrip glue.

New purge bulb and good connections on lines.

Crank seals, good (it’s a new Farmertec engine.). Base ‘pan’ sealed with Permatex #2. [emoji106]

It’s all down to the [emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959]Zama carb.

Well the old saying is if it rains on Easter Sunday it will rain for 7 consecutive Sunday’s and in my memory banks that’s usually pretty accurate. So hopefully this forecast doesn’t mean it’s going to snow for seven consecutive Sundays. I don’t recall any snow on Easter but I’m sure it has.

Sounds like it has a case of the China virus.

Replace the coil yet?

Only 2 backfiring issues I’ve experienced were the coil.

I’d like to sub in a known good one. Just to make sure the integrated circuit hasn’t gone bonkers. [emoji848]

Got several coils here but not 025/MS250 types. [emoji37]

When it does run, it sounds like the spark is way late.

Love to have an 8N. My grandparents bought one new in 1950. They traded in a Cub on it. I used to drive it around on their farm. Unfortunately, I'm out of room and I'm starting to get attached to this little one.
