I use my 460 Smith for alternative season. Works good out to 300+ yards.

Don’t make me take one at 300 with the muzzle loader just to compete with that 460...

Wouldn’t be fair to the deer...

Plus would cause me pressure and math’s..

I've yet to take one with a muzzle loader, but with 2x 50 cal Lyman Hawkens, a 54 cal CVA Hawken, and a CVA in-line 50, I should have plenty of options. all are shooters, but the in-line CVA is scary at 100. The 54 isn't shabby either!

I used to hunt with the optima just cause I liked to shoot it..

I might do a scope someday, but fiber optic "irons" work well into the point of rainbow trajectory for me...

Just get the Remington 700 ultimate muzzle loader. Dad has one. It’s based off a 700 action. It’s the best I’ve ever seen as far as a muzzle loader.

I set a straight 4x on the optima.
It has over under bases.
Use sights or scope.
