Put a bunch of Ash in the right side bay..

I told Thomas yesterday I was really looking forward to processing it up, but it split like absolute *s-word!!

Almost as bad as elm..

I took it from a north south fence row..

Got a nice shower this morning settled the dust nicely.
You got more than us.

Parts availability is why I keep so many saws on the shelf. Granted, there's still plenty of NOS Mac parts online but some parts are getting expensive.
The saws I actually take to the woods are a Dolmar 510, 16 inch bar. Echo CS670, 24 inch bar and a Husqvarna 390XP, 28 and 36 inch bar. The Dolmar gets the lion's share of the work load, followed by the Echo. Honestly, the only reasons I got the 390 was because Alan built it, and it makes cutting really big stuff easier. I still take a Mac or two to the woods, too. But they are mostly play things.

Get that 510 ported. You'd might only need 1 saw

My understanding is they imported them from Japan first, then established a plant in Illinois in 1972.
They first were Kioritzu Echo, then Kioritz Echo before they went to Echo.
Mine shows to be a 1970.
:)
That's interesting. They must have came to America under some other brand first I'm guessing. According to their site, they didn't get established in the US until '72 and didn't become Echo until '78, if I'm reading it right. Here's that link.

I had looked at the newer 620's, before I got my 461's, but only hesitated, because I wanted more power to run longer bars. I very well may end up with one at some point. Alot of folks sure seem to like them!

I'm still surprised they've been around that long! Dang near 60 years! Lol! I need to pay better attention! :-)
I keep some Echo info around if anyone needs it.

Really
I wouldn’t have thought that about ash

We got into some cottonwood that has grown twisted like it does
Processor can’t split it so we cut to length and drop off the processor
The TM on bobcat has problems splitting it too
Nasty chit [emoji3061]

Carl, would this carcass be of any use to you? I'm gonna throw it in the goat barn which means it's got one foot in the scrap pile.

I can do that.
I'll put it away for you until Spring comes around.

Yeah, even the saws themselves are starting to get pretty expensive, but more so, some parts. Parts saws can be had fairly reasonable, it's the shipping that gets a guy. I run into the same thing with machines. I can find good deals on mills and lathes, but to ship something clear out here is expensive and I just don't have the means or the time to make treks across the country to pick machines up.

So long story short, my Macs are for play as well and I stick to the small cc Macs, so it's a bit cheaper. I'm beginning to think I just have too many hobbies, and none of them seem to be cheap. :-)

Full up on Echo carcasses here.[emoji2960]

I have several I think I’ll pile at the end of the driveway and put up an add on C’list.

IDK if the SIL is up for a stop at Nixa Tuesday on our way to Branson.[emoji848]

If I wasn't at work, I'd go fishing with you.
