Yet another 028 nears completion.

Finding a complete carcass w/muffler and air filter cover is getting stupid. Even a freebie can get one upside down in an antique Stihl.

But I did sell an 028 Super to a young man last night.

People love ‘em to death.

YES!!
I hear you on that. Anymore I hate May thru September. (Well, maybe not September. After all, it is a promise of cooler weather.)
On an interesting note, as part of my job I take daily outdoor temp readings. Twice a day. Been doing it for 15 years. Now, this is just locally, but I've noticed the past 2 years that August (My least favorite month) has been cooler than July. And this August has, pretty much, followed the same pattern. I remember July being the interim month. Starting out halfway decent and building as the month wore on with temps peaking in August. August usually being upper 90's to lowish 100's.
This month I recorded 1 day with a high of 100. It lasted about 30 minutes. About 5 days being in the 90-95 range and the rest being 85-90.
I need to go over my notes and get real numbers and averages to put things in perspective, but so far this is the 3rd August that hasn't measured up.
Interesting stuff.
:)
Sooooo...

The whole “global warming is gonna kill us in 12 years” is a little WRONG!!!!!

Them stupid bastards don’t know the difference between a pencil and soup bowl..

I think the Ozarks Older Iron Club event in Cabool is the weekend before Ft Scott.

Did some figuring a while ago, with my daily temperature readings for this August. This figure does not contain weekend temps.
My temperature source is taken from underneath one of my Rtu's, in the shade, about 3 feet from where the air flows through the condenser section. This reading is also skewed because it's on the roof of the building, so it's naturally warmer than standing out in our lawn area. It was also taken between 4pm and 4:15 pm m-f.
Average daily temp 87.5.
Local weather service monthly average for this August is 77.7 with a low of 59 degrees.

Nother step in that stroker 661. In case I fergot to mention, $550 for a used 661, which runs less fun than my Ms-460, with lotta use with stock everything. Coupla weeks ago.
Now maxflo on order for intake, next I'm looking for a 660 crank, hopefully HL supply will offer one on sale before I hafta have it.
Gotta mess with this used 661 to see if any improvement can be made. Seller got an odd look when I mentioned maxflow and muf mods

The saws I got from Rich in Bellevue without exception contained fuel at approx 20:1.

The alley gets real smokey when I get one fired up on 32:1.

I put the drained fuel in the ‘95 Dodge filtered thru a doubled over paper shop towel.

Good for the valve guides. [emoji106]

I hope. [emoji1696]

Stroker 661???

I missed something there..
It's been done. Ms 660 crank into machined 661 cases, a lil tlc, and a milling power head that I'm working on collecting as much of the pieces before my turn in line comes up.
Over 98.52cc's whatever. That is just what I'm gonna have in the arsenal for when the 72" Forester is needed for milling. Cause I'm really accustomed to picking chips outa my grin:eusa_whistle:
