Don't be too quick to pronounce that a POS. I cut a LOT of firewood with one like that before I knew what a "real" saw was or could afford one. I learned how to sharpen chains, do a muffler mod and maintain a saw with it. I think I wore out three (consumer grade) bars before I sold it. It was still running good when I sold it for $75. Heck, I only paid $119 on sale I think.

I keep a couple around for loaners and still run 'em sometimes. Once you get used to a particular saw everything else feels foreign.

You're absolutely right on those four bolts. I've bought many like that for $10 and did nothing more to fix them than tightening those engine bolts and the two carb mounting bolts. LocTite works on plastic.

Oh, I didn't say it wouldn't get the job done.
What it really needs is a 16" bar. Only .325" X 16" on hand was junk and couldn't find a correct dl chain.

Still waiting on an oil pump for it from Jeff. The gear was a victim of the loose bolts.
