Unless the spool is damaged, all you need is a stack of 'O' rings.

It's the spool out of the loader valve on a JD 7210. The balls on the detent had become pitted causeing it to hang open. That's why I pulled it out. Now I'm in for an oil change as well.

They are bad to leak around the little rubber plug in the end cap, (if it has one) and around the base of the cap. You can put it back together without the little balls, and it will work fine, just without the pressure detents and float position, if so equipped. Deere offers a complete uptime kit to help eliminate this problem, but it's been so long that I have forgotten the part number!
