I think only in the 4500 and 5500 offers the stick
I think your right.
I think only in the 4500 and 5500 offers the stick
The 7.3 is a brute, but I think the 6.2 delivers what's needed with less fuel.jave you seen the new 7.3 gasser from Ford yet?

Honestly, I used to haul trailer loads of calves to the stockyards with an 89 F150.. 6 cylinder!!
It wasn't an awesome experience, but got the job done.
The new gas motors are WAY better than that old POS ever dreamt of being.
18' gooseneck is what we had at the time. Had a 20' flatbed we used to P/U round bales. All depends on how big that trailer was.
The new gassers do look promising. Hopefully I have 10 more years before I have to do anything.
That a scary thought.I think your right.
But its simple and old school. Both are things that I like. The 7.3 is a brute, but I think the 6.2 delivers what's needed with less fuel.
All the truck manufacturers need to take the darn center console out and give me back some leg room next to the steering wheel. I don't fit in any car anymore due to consoles and now every truck has to put them in. Not trucks anymore. Look more like Cadillacs inside. Cost the same too. Darn yuppies

They are old school for sure. No doubt a solid motor. Just really drink fuel even when not loaded. That a scary thought.

If it can get 11mpg thats better than my Suburban and fine by me. And I think it more aimed at fleet trucks for cheaper maintenance costs. They are old school for sure. No doubt a solid motor. Just really drink fuel even when not loaded.
IIRC they are damn near as expensive as the diesel as far as options goes. Just not sure if there's a big market for them. Maybe in the far north??
I know if I lived in northern MN, you couldn't pay me to own a diesel..
Thats what I'm talking about. One nice thing on the new Ford 7.3 gas is its not overhead cam. Old fashioned pushrod V8 .
I will check it out.
The new Ram's are some ugly M'Fers, but a manual trans is pretty tempting.
Had heard that..One nice thing on the new Ford 7.3 gas is its not overhead cam. Old fashioned pushrod V8 .
I'm looking at new ones right now.
Could someone tell me again why I need a diesel?
Seriously thinking gas at this point. I just can't see how the extra $10,000 will ever be worth it..
I just don't put that many miles on the things. Bout 10,000 miles a year.
And I liked Lisa's chevy HD gasser. had good power.
Just checked for economy figures .It turns out on 8-9000 plus vehicles EPA doesn't require a rating on the sticker .Had heard that..
Any word on estimated fuel economy yet?
It's 442 CI of low RPM grunt.
With that being said they are saying it does better than the closest ohc V8.Just checked for economy figures .It turns out on 8-9000 plus vehicles EPA doesn't require a rating on the sticker .
Not bad considering what its doing. With that being said they are saying it does better than the closest ohc V8.
I'd bet about 12 in reality .
