Fixing a saw for a friend that got really sick. Otherwise I try to stay away from these models. Holding a plastic saw together with metal and Loctite makes for broken studs that normally would be a quick fix, but not on these! They’re good for sales but not to service.

On them one should check the four bolts that hold the engine together and in the chassis.

Frequently!!

Wrong pitch chain /sprocket will shake the bolts plumb out. [emoji849]

I was after the bar stud that he somehow broke. I couldn’t get at it to drill it out so opted to replace the clam bottom w/ a new one. Those 4 bottom screws were so tight I had to use a socket and a small breaker bar on them. Almost back together now. Let the Yamabond set up for 24 hr. and should be outa here!

The Farmertec replacements for the Farm Boss types use machine screw thread bolts instead of the fast pitch self tapping.

Much better suited to R & R. [emoji106]. And, longevity.

Stihl has an oversize stud for the front one btw. [emoji1696]

I have a bunch of 3/8” x 60 dl chipper but running short on 72dl loops.

Take a 60 and add twelve from a doaner and make a 72.

Cost to break and splice is a buck per.

New loop of 72 full chisel is $17.50 from Jeff’s. Carlton.

Got the 200t back from Calin. But not without a scar.

He knocked it off a bucket in the garage. Already ordered a new cover.

Did manage to run five tanks thru it with no problems.[emoji108]
