A call to you neighborhood fire dept may be prudent. [emoji6]

I will call the Sheriff To make sure the know it alls don't have a burn ban on after a snow. Common sense it's like searching for gold some times

The dogs are having a fit over something across the road..

Must be a tyranasaurus Rex by the way they’re fussing over it..

Or. George is just paranoid..

Possibly the case.

Burning used motor oil can be a pretty dirty business. But it’s a great heat source if you can actually get the burn chamber up to a temp where it’s getting a complete burn...
AKA “no smoke”
Doug could chime in here, as his business is all about burning up the unburnt burnable’s..

You got it. Chamber temp and preheating/warming the fuel makes for a cleaner burn. To hot then you make NOx. Not enough air (oxygen) and you get CO. CO = pore combustion. Very fine line or balance of CO and NOx for best burn. Hot chamber and just starved of air. Then to get more complicated you preheat the incoming air. Then add NH3 lime and filters to the exhaust for emission control.

Local truck mechanic has about 20 totes of used oil for heating. Makes more oil than he uses for heat. Takes me 4 years to fill one tote with used oil.

I filled an old oil filter full and set it between 2 burning logs. Oil didn’t burn per se.. it boiled out the top and the gasses burnt all around the top.
So if a man had the oil hot already, that would help.
Or a HP pump to atomize it.

I think preheat is the best.

Neighbor down the road has one in his big shop.

Biggest maintenance issue he has is the multiple stage filter system. He goes through a lot of filters.

Very inconsistent fuel it is.
Crud/water/general nastiness.

But it works, and is “on demand” heat.

Yea best filter I've seen has a heater and centerfuge in it to get the water and crud out. If u have a good supply from a truck shop or dealer might be a cleaner supply of oil so less work.

My neighbor called the local fire department to let them know that he was going to burn some brush. He was told that he had to have a burn permit from the EPA registered at the fire department and the fire had to be over 200ft from any structures.
He's kinda a hothead so he flew off the handle and in no nice words told them what they could do with their permit and he was gonna burn anyway. After he hung up on them it was a good thing that he had second thoughts as within 5 minutes, a firetruck and a pickup with a water tank setup and the fire chief's vehicle showed up on his property ready to bust him.[emoji15]

Since the PS510 got the adjustable carb last weekend it got a muffler mod last night and put together a bit ago. It appears Dolmar anticipated eliminating the catalytic converter because there is a spot at the base of the front of the muffler that just begs for a hole. After boring a 3/4 inch hole in that spot it provides a bypass of the converter.
Little bugger has really come to life now. And has a nasty bark to it worthy of an AWOL muffler.

We need to design a brush stove. 1000000000s of Btus lost.
just get one if these badboys and a wood chipper to make it all fit.

The boss won't let me leave the house till tomorrow. Probably for the best. I did my part to control overpopulation Friday.
how bad is the vehicle damage?

I still think they should by used oil from people. Its already out of the ground and been refined once.
